It is well known that crystallization kinetics and final morphology are deeply affected by molecular orientation induced by flow during polymer processing. Quantification of these effects is extremely important on both scientific and technological basis. In the last few years, most laboratories dealing with analysis of polymer processing operations started to study the effect of flow on crystallization kinetics and morphology and their implications on both polymer processing operations and object properties. This subject will be covered in the conference according to the following outline:
